Enrique Iglesias is portrayed as being exotic in this programme. The fact that he is Spanish and has a foreign look and accent makes him seem more interesting to the girl, the woman is more interested in Enrique's character rather then the American man, Charlie, this therefore is showing Enrique as being an exotic Spanish character, that is more interesting and appealing to women. This programme portrays ethnicity in an exotic way and makes the person with a different ethnicity look different and exciting than the other characters.

Ethnicity is seen as being humorous in this movie 'East is East' because they are making light comedy of the way the Khan family follow the tradition of their Pakistani ways. The movie is showing the Khan families ethnicity to be humorous throughout the serious event of  an arranged marriage.

This an article that gives a stereotyical view of young people. This article shows the younger people of today being catagorised as 'Chavs' and 'costing tax payers a fortune' this media is giving younger people a bad stereotype in the media with a negative representation and also catagorsing many people of this age all as 'Chavs'. The article below also shows a stereotypical image of someone that would look like a 'Chav' leading other people that wear caps or tracksuits to imediately be labled as a 'Chav' or as 'Scum.'

The representation of this article is positive for age representation because it challenges the stereotype normally given to younger people. Younger aged people such as teenagers are particularly stereotyped in a negative way in the media, they are normally stereotyped as 'Chavs' and violent, rude, trublesome people. However this article about Patrick McDowell is challenging that stereotype of age representation and gives younger people the positive representation not always seen so much in the media.

This woman challenges the stereotype for old people, she's at the age of 83 and does sports people half her age wouldn't even attempt to do. This example is a positive representation of older people in the media because this woman doesn't follow the stereotypes normally associated with older people, instead she skydives, go karts and parasails. Old people in the media are normally stereotyped as being slow, boring, grumpy and weak however Super Grandma, Brenda challenges this stereotype and gives older people a more positive representation in the media.

To improve my answer in this question I need to revise the different representations of age, gender, race, religion, class, sexuality, handicap and I also need to include more media terminology.  I also I need to find strong case studies and detailed examples to support my answer.

Revision and study:

I need to make sure I revise all the elements of representation and the media terminology, I need to make notes on all the topics studied and remember some detailed examples to use in my answers.
